Man arrested after illegally gaining employment at Fort Lauderdale airport

A Lebanese man employed at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, Florida has been arrested after allegedly using fake US identification papers to obtain his job.

The 37-year-old was employed as an operations agent at the airport from 1997 until August 2002. During his employment he had access to the runway and other sensitive areas in the airport.

The man is scheduled to appear in court today (21 August) to face charges of possessing a false US document. If convicted the man faces 15 years imprisonment, reported The Associated Press.
