A British Airways aircraft made an emergency landing at Scotland's Prestwick airport yesterday (20 August) during a flight from Glasgow to Belfast.

The pilot of the aircraft - which was carrying 39 passengers and four crew members - requested an emergency landing about 30 minutes after takeoff when a brake overheat warning light came on. As a precautionary measure the pilot shut down one of the aircraft's engines, before landing safely at the airport.

None of the passengers or crew members were injured during the incident. The passengers continued their journey to Ireland aboard a replacement aircraft, PA News reported.
