Lufthansa signs maintenance agreement with Rolls-Royce

German airline Lufthansa has formed a maintenance agreement with aero-engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce.
The agreement will provide in-service support for the Trent 500 engines used to power the carrier's fleet of ten Airbus A340-600 aircraft. Lufthansa is expected to introduce the new aircraft during the third quarter of 2003 on long-range routes to Asia and the Americas.
The agreement is for a ten-year period and is worth USD215m, reported PA News.
