A car was blown into the sea after being caught in wind created by a VASP Brazilian Airlines Boeing 737-300.

It has been reported that the car was thrown 25 metres and flipped over three times before the driver fell out and the vehicle landed in the sea. Officials at Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont airport claimed that the man, who is in hospital with serious head and chest injuries, ignored red lights and an alarm that alerts people to an aircraft departure.

Experts have estimated that the air from the turbines can reach more than 230 kilometres per hour, reported Ananova.
