Australian carrier Qantas Airways has launched Snap Fresh, a centralised meal production facility for the airline industry.

Snap Fresh, a wholly owned Qantas subsidiary, will produce new meal concepts which will be served to customers on international and domestic routes. Snap Fresh meals, which will be served in-flight from 6 February, are cooked and rapidly frozen instead of chilled.

The majority of the meals produced at Snap Fresh will be for Qantas, although the facility will also service airline partners and businesses in the hospitality, healthcare and mining industries.
