Northwest aircraft turns back after oil leak in engine

A Northwest Airlines aircraft travelling to Japan from the Philippines was forced to return to Manila after one of its engines failed.
The flight, travelling to Nagoya and Detroit, left Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 0621 local time but was forced to turn back when it developed an oil leak on one of its left engines. The aircraft landed safely at the airport at 0847 local time.
Workers started repairs on the engine shortly after passengers disembarked, reported The Associated Press.
