On January 28 2002 - two days before the second anniversary of an ill-fated Kenya Airways flight which crashed on 30 January 2000 - a Paris-based firm of legal practitioners will file a law suit against Kenya Airways and Airbus SAS, a European aircraft manufacturer, on behalf of the victims of the crash in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.

The law suit - to be filed by the law firm Martin Chico and Associates - will aim to compel Kenya Airways and Airbus to pay adequate compensation to the victims and dependants of the victims of the crash.

The lawyers have arrived in Nigeria to meet with the victims and families of the crash victims, according to This Day. They have disclosed that Nigeria accounted for the highest number of victims on board the flight, which had 29 nationalities.

The crash killed 169 passengers and crew, with only ten people on board the flight surviving.
