Cathay Pacific Airways claims that the work-to-rule action by its pilots will have little impact on operations.
The Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association, which represents 1,300 Cathay Pacific pilots, announced on 2 January that the pilots will refuse to work on days they are scheduled to be off to recover from fatigue or jetlag. The association has stated that it will practise "contract compliance".
According to a spokeswoman for Cathay Pacific Airways, the pilots' move might affect the flexibility of the airline's rostering but not its flight schedules, reported The Associated Press.
