Authorities reportedly questioned a Bolivian man yesterday after he requested a tour of the cockpit during a AirTran Airways flight.

The man - who was travelling with his 70-year-old mother from Atlanta to Miami - reportedly left his seat and asked one of the flight attendants if he could take a tour of the cockpit. The flight attendant told the man that tours of the cockpit are not permitted and he returned to his seat.

The man never appeared to be a threat to the aircraft or its 81 passengers and five crew members, however as a precautionary measure the pilot contacted Miami authorities about the situation.

The Boeing 717 aircraft landed safely at Miami International Airport, where Miami-Dade police and FBI agents removed the man from the flight for questioning. He was later released and was allowed to continue his journey to Bolivia, reported Reuters.
