The UK's Competition Commission has completed its latest review of landing charges at London's three largest airports.

The Commission has stated that airport operator BAA should continue to subsidise fees with income from its shops and restaurants. This decision goes against the Civil Aviation Authority's plans to remove money generated from such outlets from calculations on how much the airports should charge airlines in user fees to get a fair rate of return.

The move is a relief to airlines as the CAA's plans would have significantly increased the airlines' fees, reported Reuters.
