Singapore Airlines has suspended two pilots after their aircraft struck two objects on a taxiway at Taipei's Chiang Kai-shek International Airport.
The incident occurred on 19 July 2002 when the aircraft was preparing to take off for a scheduled flight to Singapore. The aircraft reportedly entered the wrong runway at Taipei's airport and its wing struck two tail stands before takeoff.
The pilots were notified by air traffic controllers about the incident but decided to continue the flight which landed safely in Singapore with minor damage to a wing panel.
The two pilots have been suspended pending an investigation, which is normal procedure, reported Reuters.
