US Airways and United Airlines have reportedly formed a codesharing agreement.
The agreement - which will be submitted to the US Department of Transportation - is expected to allow US Airways and United Airlines passengers to access a wider route network; make connections between both airlines on a single reservation through new streamlined ticketing, baggage handling, and check-in procedures; earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on each other's airline; and use each airline's airport lounges.
US Airways and United Airlines will remain separate, competing companies with separate schedules, pricing and sales functions, and will continue to compete on all routes served by one another.
