Australian airline Qantas Airways is reportedly aiming to cut internal costs by 15% over a ten-year period by building a AUD200m e-business platform.
The airline will undertake a four-month preliminary study to outline details of the technology overhaul, before enlisting Monday (previously called PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting) and technology services group IBM Global Services to plan, manage and maintain the project for ten years.
The overhaul - aimed increasing coordination and efficiency across the airline's human resources, finance, payroll and purchasing departments - will also affect some of its customer-related areas, such as customer service and frequent flyer departments, reported AsiaPulse.
