Mesa Air Group Inc has revealed the results of an informal survey on the wait times in security lines at US airports.

The company's Customer Service department at Mesa's key hub airports - Phoenix, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Kansas City - conducted the informal survey last week. The information collected showed that the average waits were between four and six minutes and 15 to 20 minutes during peak periods.

According to Mesa's chairman and chief executive officer Jonathan Ornstein, the wait times at the airports have decreased despite continued media coverage that states the opposite.
