Air Canada to create single regional airline

Air Canada is reportedly planning to create a new airline by combining its four regional air carriers into a single entity.
According to the president of the regional unit, the new airline will be launched on 7 April 2002, in time for the spring and summer schedules. The new carrier will combine AirBC, Canadian Regional, Air Ontario and Air Nova. It will reportedly be amongst the five largest regional airlines in the world.
The carrier will launch with 4,420 employees and a fleet of around 120 turboprops and small jet aircraft.
