Cathay Pacific Airways has launched its Repeat Rewards Offer, which allows travellers to earn AAdvantage miles that increase with every round trip. Under the offer, members must purchase a qualifying Cathay Pacific round trip First or Business Class ticket between the US and Hong Kong or New York and Vancouver. Tickets must be purchased in the US and all travel must be completed between 1 April 2002 and 30 June 2003.

American Airlines is planning to increase its summer flight schedule from Los Angeles International Airport by adding nine daily round trip flights. The new flights, which will commence between April and June, will include two daily round trip flights to New York City's JFK, three to Chicago's O'Hare, a daily round trip to the Island of Kauai, as well as daily flights to Orlando and Toronto.

Air Canada's regional carrier, operating as AirBC, Air Nova, Air Ontario and Canadian Regional, has announced that all services at the Saint John Airport have returned to normal. The airline's scheduled service from the airport was temporarily cancelled due to the absence of emergency response services.

German airline Lufthansa is currently awaiting approval from the Vietnamese authorities to offer a third weekly flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Frankfurt. If approved the additional weekly flight is expected to be launched in April 2002. The airline, which currently operates two weekly flights between Vietnam and Germany with a stopover in Bangkok, claims that the additional flight will increase its capacity for Vietnam by 15%.

Southwest Airlines Vacations has launched an Internet fare sale, which allows customers to save USD25 per person on travel to Reno. Customers must book the complete air/hotel package to Reno online at http://www.swavacations.com. The package, available for purchase until 17 March, includes accommodation at the Sands Regency Hotel Casino Reno, Atlantis Casino Resort or Silver Legacy Resort Casino. Travel is valid every day of the week from all scheduled Southwest Airlines origins between 1 April and 30 April 2002.

Classic Mexico is offering free airfare for travel from San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Houston or Dallas/Ft. Worth to Mexico. Travellers will receive one free coach class ticket per room when they travel, thus providing them with a saving of up to USD425. Those passengers travelling from other gateways will receive a USD250 saving towards their booking. To qualify for the offer, the vacation must include a five-night hotel stay and bookings must be made before 30 March 2002. All travel must be completed by 31 December 2002.

Classic Caribbean, American Airlines, US Airways, Air Jamaica, Delta Air Lines and more than 70 Caribbean hotels have joined together to offer up to 35% off Caribbean vacations, including airfares and hotels. The discount covers travel to the Caribbean with Classic Caribbean - which is offering discounted vacations to 70 participating hotels on 16 islands from Anguilla, Tortilla and Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and St. Barthelemy. The sale is valid for bookings made before 31 March 2002 and travel must be completed between 14 April and 31 August 2002.
