An 80-year-old America West Express passenger was declared dead on Saturday (16 March) after arriving at Des Moines International on a flight from Phoenix.

The man had a history of heart and kidney-related problems. He had been accompanied by his son and daughter-in-law, who reportedly assured flight attendants that he was fine during the flight.

A medical examiner said that there was no way to determine whether the man died before, during or after the flight, according to The Associated Press.
