A Ryanair Boeing 737 aircraft narrowly missed hitting a cat as it landed at Manchester Airport on Wednesday night (6 March).
The pilot contacted airport officials to say that he had spotted a cat as he touched down on runway one. The aircraft reportedly landed on the runway just inches from the animal, who was retrieved after the incident by airport staff. The incident did not pose any danger to the aircraft and its passengers, an airport spokesman said.
The cat, who has been named Runway, is being looked after by the airport's bird control unit until its owners are found, reported PA News.
