Chanchangi aircraft aborts flight due to engine trouble

On Wednesday (15 May) an aircraft operated by Nigerian carrier Chanchangi Airlines reportedly lost one of its engines during a flight to Abuja.

The aircraft - a Boeing 727, carrying about 177 passengers - had departed from the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The pilot contacted the control tower about 15 minutes into the flight to request an emergency landing after the aircraft was found to have lost one of its engines.

The aircraft landed safely, without further incident. The airline deployed a second aircraft to transport the passengers to Abuja, reported This Day.
