Virgin Atlantic Airways has reportedly selected Goodrich Corp to provide cockpit door video surveillance systems for its aircraft.

The surveillance systems, to be installed on the airline's complete fleet of both Airbus and Boeing aircraft, will provide real-time video monitoring of the cockpit door entry and forward area to the flight crew.

The system consists of colour displays with integrated video computer, video cameras and system controllers. An infrared light source built into the video cameras allows video monitoring in 0.0-lux lighting conditions. The system can be expanded to passenger cabin monitoring.
