The Finnish border guards and the airline Finnair are reportedly to start checking identities by using fingerprints at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
Finnair aims to check the identity of the staff through fingerprints next year and later on the method is also to be used to identify passengers.
The aim is to make controls faster and to increase security, according to the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.
While the system is ready, it remains to be agreed what type of travel document to save the fingerprints in.
