Freedom Airlines flight evacuated due to fire

A Freedom Airlines aircraft was evacuated yesterday (7 May) after the Nigerian aircraft caught fire.

The aircraft, a Boeing 727, was preparing to take off from the Kano international airport when the cabin crew aborted the flight after passengers on board smelt burning. According to witnesses black smoke was seen coming from the aircraft.

All passengers aboard the flight evacuated safely and airport fire fighters managed to extinguish the fire, reported Xinhua News Agency.
