The Quebec government has formed an agreement with Air Canada on discounted fares.
Under the three-year agreement, the government will reportedly purchase more tickets from the carrier in return for discounted fares for travellers in the province's remote areas. The measure is expected to reduce fares by between 40% and 70% in the Canadian province.
A second condition of the agreement calls on the carrier to improve its onboard services in French, Quebec's official language, reported Reuters.
