United Airlines has formed a tentative cost-cutting agreement with its flight dispatchers union.

The agreement - which is part of United Airlines' measures to avoid a bankruptcy filing - is said to be in line with the airline's plan to achieve USD5.8bn in labour cuts, however the terms of the agreement have not been released.

If the agreement is ratified by both parties, United Airlines only needs to form a cost-cutting agreement with its machinists union.
