Eclipse Aviation is reportedly holding discussions with two Fortune 100 engine suppliers for engines to power its new corporate jet aircraft.
The company was originally planning to power its twin-engine, six-seater Eclipse 500 aircraft with small engines manufactured by Michigan company Williams International, however Eclipse Aviation has cancelled the contract.
The company is believed to have cancelled the contract after the engine starters and some fuel control components showed excessive wear after an hour-long flight on 26 August 2002.
A decision on the new engines is expected to made within the next month or so, reported The Associated Press.
