The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has formed an agreement with the US Postal Service and a gift store at Bradley International Airport to enable travellers to keep banned items.
The new service allows passengers to take their flight without having to part with any banned item. Passengers can purchase a mailing box with an address label for USD5 and a stamp for USD3.85, from any of the Paradies Shops at the airport, for sharp objects like corkscrews and scissors. The items - which must not weigh more than one pound - can then be mailed to the destination.
The service was used by about 250 people in its first week, reported The Associated Press.
