British Airways has reportedly launched an investigation after a journalist allegedly smuggled fake explosives aboard a flight from Frankfurt, Germany to London's Heathrow airport.

A reporter employed by German television station Stern TV reportedly smuggled a mobile phone packed with plasticine onto a British Airways flight at Frankfurt Airport. She is said to have placed the phone in the side wall of a seat and then sent the seat number via a text message to a second reporter.

Earlier this month, journalists from The People newspaper smuggled a meat cleaver and a 4-inch knife onto a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Manchester, reported PA News.
