Alaska Airlines forms heavy maintenance contract with AAR

Alaska Airlines has formed a 28-month contract with AAR Aircraft Services, a provider of aftermarket support for the aviation/aerospace industry.

Under the agreement, AAR will provide the carrier with heavy maintenance services for its fleet of MD-80 and Boeing 737 series aircraft. The heavy maintenance functions include light and heavy C checks, modifications, aircraft upgrades and exterior and interior refurbishment services.

The company's Landing Gear Services unit has also formed a five-year contract with Midwest Express Airlines. Under this agreement, AAR will perform scheduled and unscheduled landing gear exchange and overhaul services on the carrier's fleet of DC-9 and MD-80 series aircraft.
