Bangkok's second international airport will reportedly be ready for operation in September 2005.

Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Sinawatra has stated that the USD2.88bn Suvarnabhumi Airport will be constructed as scheduled by December 2004, with operations commencing the following year.

The airport, designed to ease congestion at the existing Don Muang Airport, will be able to handle 76 flights an hour and 40m passengers annually.
