Two Indian carriers withdrawn from privatisation

The Indian government has approved a proposal to remove two state-run airlines from the list of 35 companies on sale.

Air India and Indian Airlines were not attracting satisfactory bids, according to India's Civil Aviation Minister Shahnawaz Hussain.

The decision paves the way for a major aircraft investment programme, according to Reuters.
