Authorities have revealed that a number of employees at LaGuardia Airport stole hundreds of thousands of mini-bottles of airline liquor.

The 11 workers employed by LSG Sky Chefs Inc and two others reportedly stole more than 400,000 mini-bottles, worth about USD1.5m, from an airport storage facility over the last year. The employees then sold the cases of Dewar's Scotch, Courvoisier cognac and Bacardi rum - worth about USD760 - to local stores for about USD240 each.

The accused face charges of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and conspiracy. If convicted they face prison sentences of up to seven years, according to Reuters.
