The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered all LearJet Model 45 business jets to be grounded until a part is replaced.
The FAA order reportedly gives Learjet owners until Saturday (16 August) to fly their aircraft to a repair station to replace the horizontal stabilizer actuator assembly, which helps control up and down movements. The agency said that the part could break, making it impossible to control the aircraft.
The administration issued the order after a report about a Learjet Model 45 aircraft vibrating severely and then pointing downward.
