Qantas Airways considering launch of low-cost airline

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Australian carrier Qantas Airways is said to be considering whether to launch a new lost-cost airline.
Under a proposed plan, Qantas may launch a low-cost domestic leisure airline, which would be 100% owned by Qantas but would have a separate management structure.
Qantas Airways is expected to make a decision on the proposal by the end of November 2003.
