El Al cargo aircraft loses parts during flight

An El Al Airlines aircraft reportedly lost several parts during a cargo flight from New York to Frankfurt, Germany.
The Boeing 747-200 aircraft was flying over the Netherlands when it lost a few cover plates from its fuselage yesterday (3 August). The aircraft landed safely at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, where it is also said to have suffered a burst tyre.
Residents near the airport reported sightings of parts falling from the aircraft. Two metal plates have been retrieved.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, reported Reuters.
