Olympic Airways' flight attendants began their fourth day of strike action today (1 December) to protest against reduced pay and benefit packages.

The strike action forced the carrier to ground 22 flights, and also coincided with the scheduled launch date for Olympic Airlines - the successor to Olympic Airways. The new launch date for Olympic Airlines will now be around 12 December 2003.

The airline's management has said that it will sue the strikers, whose action defied a court order, as well as suspend them from the payroll and seek compensation for lost earnings, reported Reuters.
