United Airlines has deployed TimesTen's Real-Time Event Processing System as the Operations Data Store (ODS) for "day of operations" information.
The ODS serves as the single source of data, 24/7, supporting multiple applications worldwide that rely on the accuracy and timeliness of operational data. It is currently in production for a number of applications, including flight status, crew scheduling, gate information displays and a real-time executive dashboard.
The ODS' usage could also be extended to baggage handling, flight dispatching, air traffic management, catering and maintenance-related functions.
