Australian entrepreneur Glenn Millen is to launch an airline service for European backpackers.

The carrier, to be called BackpackersXpress, will operate two Boeing 747 aircraft on the route between Manchester, UK and Melbourne, Australia at bargain ticket prices. The carrier will also offer live-entertainment and karaoke competitions and will provide passengers with safety information about Australia, including warnings about sunburn, sharks and crocodiles.

The new airline is reportedly hoping to carry about 14,000 passengers in its first year.
