Qantas to place armed security on Singapore flights

Armed security guards will fly on some Qantas Airways flights between Singapore and Australia, officials announced on 26 December 2003.
The undercover guards will fly on the route after an agreement between the Australian and Singapore authorities. Australia is also negotiating a deal with the US for a similar arrangement.
Singapore is one of Australia's busiest routes with over 12,000 flights a year flown by Qantas and Singapore Airlines, reports Reuters.
