SilkAir has reportedly launched a rebranding exercise and has slashed fares in order to beat increasing competition from low-cost carriers.

The carrier, a unit of Singapore Airlines, is attempting to attract more leisure travellers by reducing its fares across the board - with some flights now costing as little as SGD75.

The airline intends to continue expanding its operations this year, with plans to operate additional services to destinations in China and India.
