The Swedish aircraft support and maintenance services company Saab Aircraft AB, part of the aviation services business unit of the high-technology group Saab, said today (10 January) that it had been approved for maintenance training by Canada's airworthiness authority Transport Canada.

Saab Aircraft received an Approved Training Organization Certificate which means that the company can conduct Saab 340 and Saab 2000 type training for students with a Canadian mechanic licence.

"With more Saab 340s entering service in Canada, training approval by Transport Canada is an important milestone in our ability to support this market. We are now able to provide Saab factory training to the technicians and mechanics supporting our aircraft with the various Saab operators," commented John Belanger, director of PR and communications at Saab Aircraft.
