JetBlue Airways has reportedly placed a USD3bn order with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
The order is for 100 Embraer 190 jets, featuring passenger configurations of 100 seats per aircraft, as well as built in DirecTV programming at every seat and large leather seating reduced to a two-by-two configuration. The new aircraft will enable the carrier to enter the mid-size commuter market, and provide short-haul trips.
JetBlue has also signed an option to purchase another 100 aircraft, which would increase the value of the agreement to USD6bn, according to The Associated Press.
