A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight was delayed on Monday (16 June) after customs officials discovered packets of foreign currency on board the flight.

The aircraft was preparing to depart for New York from Zia International Airport, Bangladesh when officials received information that a huge amount of foreign currency would be smuggled on board the flight. A team of customs officials conducted a massive search of the aircraft and discovered the currency under a cover panel of one of the toilets.

The currency was concealed in seven packets wrapped in black cloths, reported The Associated Press.
