Swiss International Air Lines may reportedly challenge a court ruling which sets tight constraints on how it can lay off its pilots.

A court has previously ruled that the carrier must lay off proportionally pilots from Crossair and Swissair - the two carriers merged to form Swiss. The carrier - which wanted the flexibility to make cuts where it saw fit among routes and pilots - claims that the ruling will damage its turnaround plans.

Swiss is currently working on a new survival plan including job cuts and a reduction in its fleet. The plans are expected to be unveiled on 24 June, reported Reuters.
