Northwest Airlines matches United Airlines' promotion

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Northwest Airlines has adopted a promotion previously announced by United Airlines, which has also be matched by American Airlines.
The promotion offers a free ticket to members of the airlines' frequent flyer clubs when they purchase three round trip flights. Under Northwest Airlines' promotion, customers can earn a free round-trip ticket for travel in the 48 contiguous United States after flying three round trips on selected fare types by 7 October 2003. The qualifying flights on American Airlines and United Airlines must be made by 30 September.
The airlines' customers can earn a total of two free trips, with travel taking place between 2 September 2003 and 31 December 2004.
