Hong Kong enables eight airlines to impose fuel surcharge

Hong Kong has allowed eight airlines to impose fuel surcharges on passengers for a period of three months.
The Civil Aviation Department has reportedly approved charges by Air Canada, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and six mainland Chinese carriers including Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Northern Airlines, China Northwest Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Yunnan Airlines. The Chinese airlines have been granted permission to charge passengers an additional CNY70 on flights, while KLM and Air Canada can charge an extra USD10 and USD13 respectively.
