Hawaiian Airlines has formed an agreement with its principal aircraft lessor on a restructuring of the financial terms of the leases for seven Boeing 767 aircraft.

The agreement with Ansett Worldwide is subject to review by Hawaiian Airlines' creditors committee and approval of the Bankruptcy Court. The airline reportedly intends to assume the leases as part of its plan of reorganisation, and will request an expedited hearing from the Bankruptcy Court to consider approval of the restructuring and the assumption of the leases.

Hawaiian Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 21 March 2003.
