Mesa Air and United Airlines have reportedly agreed in principle to revised terms under which both Mesa and Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings Inc (ACAI) would operate as United Express carriers.

The two parties have signed a memorandum of understanding under which Mesa and Atlantic Coast Airlines would operate as United Express carriers on those portions of United Express service currently under contract to ACAI. The agreement is in the event that Mesa Air successfully acquires ACAI.

Mesa Air proposed an all-stock offer for ACAI on 6 October 2003, but ACAI's board rejected the unsolicited buy-out proposal, reported The Associated Press.
