Jordan has extradited a hijacker of a Saudi passenger aircraft three years ago to Saudi Arabia.

The man is one of two hijackers who forced a Saudi Airlines aircraft with passengers to divert from its route between Jeddah and London, UK, to fly to Baghdad, Iraq. The men were calling for an abolition of the conservative Saudi monarchy.

Jordan has now handed over one of the hijackers. Saudi Arabia had asked Iraq to extradite both hijackers, but former President Saddam Hussein's government refused, reported Reuters.
