A Czech Airlines aircraft was diverted to Iceland yesterday (18 November) after a bomb threat was received.

The aircraft was travelling from Prague to New York's John F Kennedy Airport and had just passed over Iceland when the threat was received. The flight was diverted to the Keflavik, the closest airport, where a bomb squad searched the aircraft. Nothing suspicious was found.

The 174 passengers were expected to continue their journey today (19 November).

The threat was delivered in an e-mail to the US Embassy in Prague, reported The Associated Press.
