Two British Airways pilots who were detained in Oslo, Norway last week after failing alcohol breath tests have reportedly resigned.

The two pilots, along with a member of the cabin crew, were detained shortly before boarding their flight on suspicion that they had been drinking. Police were called to the scene after staff were alerted to "an alleged breach of the airline's rules about alcohol consumption before duty". The three members of staff are all said to have failed breath tests, while results from blood tests are expected shortly.

The two pilots - who were suspended after the incident - have now resigned with immediate effect. A disciplinary investigation is continuing into the allegations made against the crew members, reported The Associated Press.
